Classical music at Sugar Pine Point State Park on Lake Tahoe’s west shore. Bring a picnic, a blanket or low backed chair, and watch the sun set as the Academy Orchestra highlights Shakespearean sonnets. Music has accompanied performances of Shakespeare's plays from the days they were written in Elizabethan England.
This year we are pleased to present to you from Shakespeare and composed by Mendleleosn - Midsummer Night’s Dream ballet (Overture 12’, Intermezzo no.5 4’, Nocturne no.7 7’, Scherzo no.1 5’) 28’, with a performance by the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective and with narration by Robert Siculair.
Additionally, to be performed this evening are Beethoven’s - Coriolan Overture (8’), Elgar - Two Interludes from Falstaff, op.68 (6’) and Korngold - Much ado about nothing Suite (15’) Kalmus rental.
