Elyse Ader-- Viola

Born in Colorado Springs, Elyse began playing the viola at 9 in her elementary school music program. Since then, she has gone on to perform throughout the U.S.,Spain, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Australia and New Zealand. An avid orchestral player, Elyse has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the U.S, including Symphony Silicon Valley, Monterey Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony, Modesto Symphony, Stockton Symphony, New World Symphony, the Mendocino Festival Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Curious Flights Orchestra, the Magik Magik Orchestra and the Colorado Young Sinfonia. Elyse is currently a member of the Santa Cruz Symphony, and is the principal violist of the Peninsula Symphony. 

As a chamber musician, Elyse has played in numerous ensembles and is strong supporter of new music and rarely performed pieces. In 2016, The Andronica String Trio gave the world premier of "Shroud," written for the group by Bay Area composer Julie Barwick. Her current group, The Sutro Chamber Players, continues to bring the music of local composers to audiences throughout San Francisco and the East Bay. Elyse has also had the opportunity to perform with the Da Vinci String Quartet, the  Delgani String Quartet, and the Common Sounds ensemble.

Elyse earned her Artist Diploma in orchestral studies in 2016 from the San Francisco Academy Orchestra, under the tutelage of Joy Fellows and Matt Young. As a winner of their 2015 Concerto Competition, she performed as a soloist with them in their 2016 season finale concert. Elyse holds an M.M from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a B.M from the University of Denver. She has participated and  performed in numerous orchestral and chamber music festivals including the Lake Tahoe Music Festival, Mendocino Music Festival, The National Orchestral Institute and Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Castleman Quartet Program, the Las Vegas Music Festival, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. 

Elyse also enjoys venturing outside of classical music. She has performed with the Robin Yukiko band, and is on the album "Love War."  She has also played alongside artists such as Father John Misty, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Evanescence, Il Volo and Michael Buble.

Elyse loves sharing music with next generation. She maintains a private teaching studio in San Mateo, and has been a coach for Summer Music West and and The Peninsula Youth Orchestra.
